Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival

The Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival is a uniquely Meghalaya celebration: India's only autumn cherry-blossom festival, timed to the brief window in November when the Himalayan cherry (Prunus cerasoides) bursts into pink bloom across the hill capital. It fuses the natural spectacle with Shillong's famous music culture, drawing major Indian and international artists to open-air stages.

For two days the city — already the music capital of the Northeast — becomes a festival of pink blossom, live concerts, food, fashion and night markets, one of the most enjoyable urban festivals in the country and an easy first festival for visitors.
