- Best window: October to April, when the weather is dry and cool.
- Guest logistics: Guwahati and Bagdogra are the big-aircraft gateways; plan transfers and buffer days for hill roads.
- Permits: Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura and Sikkim (to enter) need no permit; Arunachal, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram require an Inner Line Permit for every Indian guest.
- Scale realistically: most venues suit 50–300 guests, not the 1,000-plus of a Rajasthan palace wedding.
