Sangai Festival
Manipur's showcase of dance, martial arts, crafts and cuisine.
The Sangai Festival is Manipur's flagship cultural celebration, held over ten days in late November and named after the state's endangered dancing deer, the sangai. Staged across Imphal and by Loktak Lake at Moirang, it is a grand showcase of everything Manipuri: the graceful classical Manipuri dance (Ras Lila), the martial art of thang-ta, indigenous sports, handloom and handicraft, and the state's distinctive cuisine.
It is the single best time to experience the depth of Manipuri culture in one place, set against the backdrop of the beautiful Loktak wetlands. Check current travel advisories before planning a visit to Manipur.

- Runs 21–30 November across Imphal and Moirang/Loktak.
- An Inner Line Permit is required; check security advisories carefully before travel.
